Bitcoin Mining ROI Calculator
Work out what a Bitcoin mining machine could earn on your power, your return on investment, how long it takes to pay for itself, and what changes after the 2028 halving. All figures in pounds. Based on the worksheet in the book Turn Spare Power into Bitcoin: A UK Beginner's Guide to Bitcoin Mining with Solar, Wind and Biogas (available from Amazon).

Bitcoin's price and network difficulty change all the time. Plan on today's figures or worse, not the best month you've seen.
How this is worked out
Bitcoin mined per day = hashrate × 86,400 seconds × (block subsidy + average fees) ÷ (difficulty × 232). Revenue is that bitcoin at today's price, less the pool fee, for the share of the year the machines run. Revenue per kWh is revenue divided by the electricity used. Return on investment is the net profit over the first 12 months divided by the total outlay (machines plus site set-up). Payback counts month by month from today. Both halve the block subsidy from the halving date. Results assume today's price and difficulty stay the same.
Estimates only, not financial advice. Mining income varies with bitcoin's price and network difficulty, and bitcoin you keep can rise or fall in value. Live data from mempool.space. Machines, site builds and free pool set-up support from Blockchain Mining Solutions.
